The value of of formal tests
When we carry out language assessments with deaf children, Judy Halden and Sarah Beazley stress the need to weigh up the value of our formal tests. Workshop S will be looking at a framework for assessment of children with hearing impairment. It will consider this in the light of formal and informal assessments, their purpose; what are we assessing and why and other aspects. This article published in the BATOD Association Magazine (January 2010 - Assessment) provides some background information for delegates.
