A sound investment
Looking to improve the learning environment for her pupils, Sue Banbury weighs up the value of using a Soundfield system in her mainstream school. Tuckswood Community Primary School is located in a council estate in the south of Norwich in Norfolk. Currently 25% of pupils are working at School Action and 11% are working at School Action Plus; 8% of pupils have statements of special educational need. This is well above the national average. Among the many adaptations to the learning environment that needed to be made, the acoustic quality and control of noise in the classrooms was an urgent issue to be resolved, so the school chose to install a Soundfield system.
