Peter Preston Audiology Award

Following Peterís untimely death in 2009, some of the family and friends of Peter Preston sent BATOD a substantial cheque to provide funding for an award in his name.

The NEC decided to institute an annual award of £100 to be given for the best article on audiology written by a practitioner in the previous yearís Magazine. The National Executive Council will consider all the articles written during the calendar year in the Magazine by a practitioner and with practitioners in mind, and choose a winning article.

The award will then be presented to the winner at the March AGM of the following year.

Jo Franklin receives the Peter Preston Audiology Award 2010 The Peter Preston Audiology Award was first presented at the end of 2010 when articles from the five BATOD Magazines published during the year were considered.

Jo Franklinís article about Ďspecialí school clinics which appeared in January 2010 was chosen.

Peterís partner Judith Futers and Peterís son John presented the first certificate and cheque to a delighted Jo during the 2011 AGM on Saturday 19 March 2011
