Lead Specialist Teacher (Hearing Impairment)

We are currently seeking a committed and highly motivated suitably qualified Specialist Teacher (HI) to lead the successful Resource Base for Hearing Impaired children. The successful candidate would join a team of specialist staff who support pupils’ needs in the Resource Base and the mainstream classes.

The pupils attending the base all have severe/profound hearing impairment and resulting communication difficulties. Pupils integrate into mainstream classes, with support, as appropriate and are also taught in small groups within the base.

Applicants must have the mandatory qualification for teaching HI children.

The successful candidate must have relevant leadership experience and must be able to display innovative practice working with HI children. Good quality behaviour management is essential, as are good ICT skills.

The post is a full time permanent position.
