We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of the Deaf to join our dynamic, caring team, committed to helping children with hearing needs achieve the best educational outcomes and independence and preparation for adulthood

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a successful & highly motivated Teacher of the Deaf willing to work across a range of ages and abilities. Our successful candidate will hold the mandatory qualification as a Teacher of the Deaf.

The post will initially be based in our High School resource provision. To work within the resourced provision, the successful candidate will need to hold a level 3 BSL certificate or above and be confident in using BSL with deaf children. Candidates operating confidently at this level but without the certification may also be considered. Our interview process will include an assessment of your BSL competency.

Manchester Sensory Support Service works across the City of Manchester with children from birth through to post 16.
As well as our High School Resourced Provision, our HI service also supports two primary resourced provisions. A peripatetic team works with children , young people, their families and educational settings across the city, advising and teaching so that deaf learners can achieve the best outcomes possible
Our HI team consists of Qualified Teachers of the Deaf, Specialist TAs, a specialist Speech & Language Therapist and Audiology Technicians.
