Closes 05.12.21

Bromley Sensory Support Service, part of the Bromley SEN Advisory and Teaching Teams, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Qualified Teacher of the Deaf to work with Deaf children and their families, in homes, schools and pre-school settings.
The vacancy is currently in our Peripatetic Team, but the successful candidate must be willing to work in one of our HI Bases should the need arise.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to develop and deliver carefully structured teaching programmes (0 – 19 years) or be willing to learn, maintain accurate records and monitor pupil progress. Empowering others is a key aspect of the role and applicants will need to be confident in supporting experienced colleagues in schools and settings and in delivering training.
Recent experience of a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting effective inclusion for hearing impaired children in mainstream schools and settings is preferred.

Applications are invited from Qualified Teachers of the Deaf. Candidates must have the mandatory qualification in Hearing Impairment and a minimum of BSL Level 1. Additional relevant qualifications would be an advantage.
For the right candidate, we may consider offering the two-year part-time course to obtain the mandatory qualification. You will need to already have Qualified Teacher Status.
If you have the skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to join our highly regarded and successful Sensory Support Service Peripatetic Hearing Team, we would like to hear from you.
