Senior Teacher of the Deaf

Required as soon as possible a Qualified and experienced Teacher of the Deaf, with insight and knowledge of how to support deaf children and young people and lead a team with a commitment to quality improvement. This is a peripatetic post.
The post holder will provide strong and outstanding leadership, supervision and line management for a range of teaching and non-teaching staff. They will be required to work with parents/carers, education professionals and other agencies to ensure pupils with a hearing impairment have the opportunity to become independent learners. Key skills include: excellent IT skills, knowledge of BSL and a good knowledge of hearing aid technology & equipment. The candidate should have experience of mainstream teaching across a range of Key stages including preschool. Applicants without all the essential requirements may apply, but if appointed must agree to undertake further training as required for the post.
