Specialist Advisory Teacher for Hearing Impairment – Wiltshire
We are seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Teacher of the Deaf to join the Wiltshire Sensory Impairment, Physical and Medical Needs Service.
About the role
We are looking for someone who holds or is working towards the mandatory qualification in teaching hearing impaired children and has recent experience working in an advisory capacity. We will consider a teacher with a range of SEN experience and with a proven track record of engaging successfully with parents and children or young people, and who will be willing to undertake a Diploma course in teaching deaf children
The post is part time working 19.5 hours per week and mainly covers the central and northern areas of the county. There are offices in Trowbridge and Chippenham, with access to hot desking in other areas, and facilities for flexible home working.
You will be part of a friendly team who will support and work closely with you. You will have a wide range of experience in SEND, excellent personal, organisational and communication skills (including effective use of Information Technology), creativity and a flexible ‘can do’ attitude.
The post will offer the opportunity to travel around the area and use your own initiative to manage your caseload. Team members work independently and travel to a wide range of different locations
The salary is on teachers’ pay and conditions and will be determined by your qualifications and experience, with 2 SEN points available for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate.
