Our team includes Qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QToD) and Sensory Support Assistant posts including our BSL Instructor and Bilingual Family Development Worker. We are part of the wider Sensory Support Service which Ofted/CQC (Local Area Inspection July 2021) described as a service that is “highly regarded and valued by parents and education providers.”

We work with children, their families, early year’s settings, schools (mainstream and special) and college. We work in close partnership with other specialist teams in the borough and with our partners in the health service. As a team we provide advice and support to deaf and partially hearing children and young people, aged 0 – 25, to promote their inclusion, empowerment, progress and the raising of attainment.

We will have a vacancy in the team from January 2023 and we are keen to recruit a skilled and experienced QToD who can work in an advisory capacity and is familiar with working in a diverse multi-cultural environment.

The ideal candidate would have experience of work across a diverse age range, including young babies and pre-school children or Post 16 experience. You may have a wider knowledge of special educational needs and will show a commitment to supporting successful inclusion. You will also appreciate the importance of teamwork within a peripatetic service and be able to show evidence of supporting colleagues.

For the candidate with the right qualifications, skills and experience, we are offering this full-time post as Main scale / UPS at Inner London rates + TLR 2B max + SEN max. For a UPS 3 teacher, with the QToD qualification, this could be equivalent to £60,198.00 per annum.

This is a peripatetic role. You will be expected to work in a variety of different locations across the borough. A travel allowance, or essential car user allowance, is also attached to this post.
