Are you a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD)?

If so, this Specialist Teacher Adviser role will interest you. The HI team consists of Qualified Teachers of the Deaf and Early Years Deaf Instructors. The team works with children, their families, early year’s settings, schools (mainstream and special) and college. As HI we are part of the wider Sensory Team including VI and MSI.

The team provides advice and support to hearing impaired children and young people aged 0 – 25 to promote their communication development, inclusion, empowerment, progress and raising of achievement.

In addition to being a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf, you will be expected to have an extensive classroom experience as well as knowledge of the wider field of special educational needs. You will be committed to inclusion and making a difference to pupil outcomes. You will also appreciate the importance of teamwork within a peripatetic service and be able to show evidence of supporting colleagues.

This role will involve a significant amount of travel by car, for which a mileage allowance is made, and you must be able to fulfil this requirement.
