Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our Hearing Support team, working to support children with Hearing Impairment in settings and homes on behalf of the newly established Integrated SEND Service.

About Us

Buckinghamshire Integrated SEND Service delivers a range of services to support leadership, management and improved outcomes for children and young people as well as schools and early years settings across Buckinghamshire and beyond. As part of the Integrated SEND Service, the Specialist Teachers work to promote the inclusion and progress of children and young people with SEND to help them achieve their personal best. You will work closely with other Specialist teachers and professionals in your schools.

About the role

We wish to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic and committed Teacher of the Deaf to join our Hearing Support Team, working throughout Buckinghamshire based mainly in the Wycombe Area. The role will involve supporting children and young people at home, in early years, mainstream, special schools and post 16 from 0-25 years.

As part of the Integrated SEND service you will play an important role in promoting the inclusion of pupils with Hearing Impairment across the county. You will work alongside colleagues from the Sensory, Physical and Down syndrome teams in the newly formed countywide team.

About you

You will be a qualified Teacher of the Deaf or be nearing completion of training for the mandatory Teacher of the Deaf qualification.

It would be highly desirable if you have an interest in BSL and you have experience working with pre-school aged children.

You will need to show excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Word, to produce reports and records of visit.

The role is peripatetic and requires a current driving licence and access to a vehicle. Travel expenses will be paid.
