The Sensory Support Centre (SSC) at Hazelwick School caters for D/deaf and Visually Impaired students. We aim to provide a personalised level of support to enable students to become independent learners and to promote the social inclusion within the school.
The staff team consists of the Teacher in Charge/Teacher of the Deaf and a dedicated team of Communication Support Assistants. All staff within the department have training to BSL Level 2,3 or 6. We provide a wireless FM system for each student to support the maximum use of residual hearing in the classroom.
