Teacher of Deaf Children for KS3/4, Subject specialism in Computing and Media

Salary Range: MPS/UPS fringe allowance and SEN points dependant on qualifications and experience

Heathlands is an outstanding local authority special school for deaf children aged 3-16.

Funds have been committed to a new 300MB wifi infrastructure and move to the cloud for September 2020.

Due to the promotion of the previous post holder, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and committed teacher to join a well-established team.

The successful candidate must be able to offer subject specialism up to GCSE level in Computing. The ability to offer a second subject is desirable.

The successful candidate will also be expected to have involvement in the wider life of the school including tutoring responsibility for a small group of students.

Teachers who have experience and/or qualification to teach deaf children are invited to apply. Knowledge of British Sign Language or a commitment to work towards minimum BSL3 is essential. Any successful applicant without the mandatory qualification would be expected to undergo training to gain the MQ.
