We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile, and committed teacher to join a well-established team. The successful candidate will be able to teach pupils with complex needs.

Qualified Teachers of the Deaf or those with such aspirations are invited to apply.  Any successful applicant who is not a qualified Teacher of the Deaf would be expected to undergo training to gain the mandatory qualification,  funded by the school. Knowledge of British Sign Language or a commitment to work towards minimum BSL level 3 is essential.

Essentially, candidates will:

• demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the primary curriculum and SEN.
• be enthusiastic, self-motivating and able to demonstrate flexibility in your style of approach.
• have a caring and patient nature and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• be a team player and be able to contribute to the shared responsibility ethos of our school.

It would be preferred for you to be an experienced Teacher of the Deaf and committed to the development of language and literacy, however training will be offered to suitable candidates, funded by the school. Experience of teaching children with SEND would be an advantage.

At Doncaster School for the Deaf English and British Sign Language are given equal status. Ideally you will hold a British Sign Language qualification (minimum Level 2) however training can be given to suitable candidates.
