Teacher of the Deaf (Temporary) – Lewisham

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of the Deaf to work with an enthusiastic and dynamic team of specialist teachers for at least a year in the first instance to cover maternity leave. You will be joining the central, peripatetic, Sensory Teachers Team working with children and young people (0 – 19 years) and their families in a variety of settings.

This post is being offered on a 1 year temporary contract to cover maternity.

Location

The Sensory Teachers Team is based in Kaleidoscope, a multi-disciplinary centre providing a comprehensive, integrated specialist service for children and young people in Lewisham with educational, health and social needs.

What we’re looking for

You will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic person with good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be committed to the development of the service and in working collaboratively with parents and other professionals to close the gap in attainment for deaf CYP. An interest and expertise in meeting the needs of Deaf CYP with additional disabilities would be especially welcomed.

Qualified Teacher of the Deaf status is essential and experience of peripatetic work is desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Salary details

MPS/UPS + SEN £4,158 + TLR2 £2,667 pro rata for 26 hours a week (0.8 FTE)
