“UK Deaf Sport recognises the importance of developing our future sport and physical activity workforce whether that be coaches, teachers or volunteers. To support this, we are delighted to have partnered with the Leadership Skills Foundation, to deliver the Go Lead Award with the first of our courses taking place in Derby, for deaf young people aged 14 to18.
The Go Lead Award uses practical activities to help learners to develop their leadership skills.
Using the resources and working with peers, learners build the knowledge, skills and competencies to lead activity sessions. Examples of this may be supporting younger years in extracurricular activity or volunteering at their local sports club.
