Vaccinations

The BATOD Steering Group has issued the following statement on vaccinations:

BATOD is the only professional association for Qualified Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (QToDs) in the UK. QToDs work in a range of settings including special and mainstream schools, nurseries and homes – sometimes visiting vulnerable deaf children in several settings in one day requiring close contact to provide essential audiological and other support.

It is essential that all QToD should be prioritised for vaccination just as their colleagues in health and social care have been. This is happening in some Local Authorities but not all. This policy should be consistently applied across the country.
