An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf or Speech and Language Therapist to lead the rehabilitation team at the Yorkshire Auditory Implant Service
The postholder will participate in the YAIS multi-disciplinary team including the line management of the rehabilitation team which consists of Rehabilitation support workers, Speech and Language Therapists and Teachers of the Deaf who work with children and adults, as well as leading the development of the service, audit and research.
The role also includes supporting a caseload of babies, children and young people with severe to profound hearing loss from initial referral for cochlear implant assessment through to subsequent rehabilitation within Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

The Cochlear Implant Service is a dynamic regional service for Paediatric and Adult Cochlear Implantation. Currently the service received around 170 referrals a year, supports over 1,550 patients post implant, and has around 100 patients under assessment at any one time.
The Service is based in the Listening for Life Centre which is a purpose-built cochlear implant facility. It is committed to the development of a family-friendly approach to the delivery of care which includes outreach clinics across the region.
