“What happens next?

Mark Isherwood MS and his team are currently drafting the Bill, which is expected to be introduced to the Senedd during the last week of the summer term, the week commencing 14 July 2025.

Once the Bill is introduced, it will need to be scrutinised by a Senedd committee, in the same way a Government Bill would be. The Bill is likely to be scrutinised by the Equality and Social Justice Committee, which may begin Stage 1 scrutiny after the summer recess.
