“Thanks to funding from the Sign Language Partnership Group, our Next Steps – Accessible Transitions for Deaf Young People project is continuing through to March 2027.
Our big priority now is to reach as many Deaf young people across Northern Ireland as possible, and Teachers of the Deaf are such an important connection in helping us make that happen.
We can provide specialist one-to-one support around careers, college, university, training and employment; CVs and applications; interview preparation; confidence and self-advocacy; communication needs; reasonable adjustments; Access to Work; assistive technology; and preparing for life beyond school.
Whether a young person is approaching a major transition this year or simply needs some support to begin thinking about their future, we would love to connect with them.
It is also an incredibly significant time for our community, with BSL and ISL legislation in Northern Ireland now law. Let’s use this school year to celebrate that achievement while also helping our young people build their own achievements, ambitions and futures.
