“Evaluating School Hearing Screening Practices – Call for research participants for interviews
Are you involved in school hearing screening? We’d love to hear from you! UCL Ear Institute, with funding from NHS England, is conducting an online study to better understand hearing screening practices in special education residential schools.
Who can take part?
We’re looking for school nurses, teachers, audiologists, or any school or clinical staff trained to carry out hearing screening in special education settings. This is following the rollout of the NHS England ‘Ear Checks’ programme in October 2024.

This is a fully online study. Participation involves a 1-hour interview with our researcher. We plan to carry out interviews from May to July 2026.
