Join BATOD North’s 2026 Study Day! Make sure your workshop choices, dietary needs & access requirements are decided before booking!
When booking your ticket please make sure you select your workshops at the same time, by clicking ‘Tickets’ then scroll down to choose your (free) add on tickets . Choose one morning workshop and one afternoon workshop.
Keynote: Simon Herdman, DQTOD and a presenter of CBeebies BSL poetry series ‘Magic Hands’.
This one day event includes workshop presentations with a specific focus on deaf education including:
Morning Workshops 11:15 – 12:15:
- Supporting deaf children and young people in increasingly diverse learning environments.
- From magnets to momentum: developing STEM understanding in deaf learners.
- Single Sided Deafness and the Science behind LING sounds.
- EWING: What’s next for Langauge Assessments?
Afternoon Workshops 14:30 – 15:30:
- CMV Awareness & Information Session
- Unlocking the AB Toolkit: Practical Resources for Everyday Listening, Language and Assessment
- Dyslexia and Deafness
- 6 Bricks
Interpreters: Please bring your Access to Work interpreter, but note if they require lunch, a separate lunch ticket will need to be purchased. Please select an interpreter ticket on the Add-on page when selecting your workshops and contact BATOD North at the earliest convenient time, including the workshops you have booked on to. This allows us to allocate suitable rooms for the workshops chosen. BATOD North can also provide interpreters, as required. All requests for BSL interpreters need to be submitted to BATOD North, via email, by Friday 25th September 2026.
Dietary Requirements: Please highlight to BATOD North if you have a dietary requirement on the Add-On page when selecting your workshops.
Please note, BATOD North requires payment for tickets in advance and reserves the right to withhold tickets from those authorities that have not yet paid. BATOD North is run entirely by volunteers and chasing up non-payments is extremely time consuming.
The organisers reserve the right to alter the programme at any time.
