“The course opens on Monday 9 February 2026 and ends on Friday 26 June 2026. The course is part time and can be completed flexibly over this time period, although dates for module assessment and webinars are fixed – see further details attached.
The course fee of £700 covers all course materials and an electronic copy of the test pack, including a digital version of the test story, questions and scoresheet and updated test norms. We offer a discounted price for two people from the same school/service to take the course at the same time.

To apply, you will first need to create an account with City. The code for the BSL PT online training course is moduleNMS126A. If there are sections on the application form that do not apply to you, please enter ‘none’ or ‘not applicable’. We aim to let you know the outcome of your application within a week.
Payment of course fees
In the Finance section of the application form, you will be asked ‘How do you propose to finance your studies here’. Please select the ‘self-funded’ option. If your application is successful, we will email you a link to provide payment by credit or debit card. If your employer is paying for course fees, we would prefer them to pay by credit or debit card. If this is not possible, please email the course administrator Farida Walton (email above) with your employer’s details so we can invoice to them directly.
Evidence of level of skill in British Sign Language
The minimum level needed to take the course is level 2 BSL, although a higher level is preferable as course webinars are conducted entirely in BSL. Once you have completed your application, please email the course administrator Farida Walton a scan of your level 2 (or higher) BSL certificate as soon as possible.
