SSC: Deafness and Autism (Part 1)

This webinar will be of interest to Qualified Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People, Speech and Language Therapists, Education Psychologists, and Support Staff.

The SSC is pleased to announce that a two-part webinar will be delivered on Deafness and Autism. In Part 1, a Clinical Psychologist with Linguistpd will present on the following areas:

• Introduction to Autism
• Autism in deaf children
• Prevalence
• Overlap between ASD and traits found in deaf children
• Assessing deaf children for ASD – challenges and how this was overcome in deaf CAMHS
• When and how to refer for assessment

Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session.

Details of the content of Part 2 will be published later in the term.
