SSC: Supporting Children with Hearing Loss: Audiograms, Speech Acoustics and using the LMH Test

Zoom
Scottish Sensory Centre (SSC)
19th January 2023
1:00pm - 4:00pm

This course will be of interest to qualified teachers of deaf children, speech and language therapists, and specialist teaching assistants.

As a speech therapist, specialist teaching assistant or newly qualified teacher of the deaf you may feel you know the basics about a child with hearing loss but are looking for:

  • More confidence when interpreting audiograms.
  • An understanding of speech acoustics and what this means for children with hearing loss.
  • More information about the updated LMH Test (Ling, Madell, Hewitt or low, mid, and high frequency) Test and how it compares to the LING test.
  • Resources for delivering deaf awareness training packages to schools.

If this sounds like you, you will love our half day course and leave with knowledge and practical ideas for supporting listening and use of hearing technology.
