Project for home educated deaf children – updated

Posted in News

We have received this updated request from colleagues at the NDCS:

NDCS is carrying out a small project for home educated deaf children, offering them the chance to take part in an online series of careers skills workshops to broaden career aspirations.

The students must either be permanently home educated, or have elected not to return to formal educational settings for at least 3 months, beginning before 31st December 2020.  Candidates should be 13 – 25 years old.

This includes families who have recently opted for home education for reasons related to the coronavirus pandemic.  It does not include those children who will be returning to schools once the current national lockdown ends.

The first sessions will begin w/c 8th February and will run in March also.  We would be very grateful for any support you can offer in putting us in contact with any families of home educated deaf children in your area.  Any questions can be directed either to [email protected] or to our inbox[email protected].
