“We currently have Home Office funding to deliver specialist training and workshops for mainstream providers across England. As a result, there is no cost to your organisation for participating. One of our key offers, Domestic Abuse in the Deaf Community, is delivered by an experienced Deaf trainer with specialist professional experience in domestic abuse.
This workshop supports organisations to strengthen their response to Deaf survivors by addressing systemic barriers to access and engagement. It provides evidence-informed insight grounded in both lived and professional experience, alongside practical considerations for improving accessibility, professional practice, and referral pathways. Deaf Awareness guidance can also be incorporated to support inclusive service delivery.
The Domestic Abuse in the Deaf Community workshop covers:
· Barriers and risks faced by Deaf people when engaging with statutory and voluntary services
· Best-practice approaches to supporting Deaf survivors of domestic abuse
· Key information about the Deaf community, alongside relevant resources and support options
· An overview of our service and opportunities for ongoing partnership working
