Two years with possibility of extension for a maximum cycle of six years
Time Commitment

 

This will vary from month to month but there is an expectation that the role will require approximately a few hours per month on average, increased activity around November and January, plus one day per year for interviews.

Particular time commitments are from beginning of March to early June.

If the postholder has been unable to contribute to the work of BATOD or a meeting related to the role for a continuing period of up to 6 months, beginning with the date of the appointment to/renewal of role, SG will consider appointment of a replacement postholder, to ensure the efficient continuation of BATOD’s work, following consultation with the post holder

Main purposes of role

 

Co-ordinate the administration of the Con Powell Scholarship on behalf of the funder, Ovingdean Hall Foundation.
Key tasks

 

The application period typically runs from January to April with interviews in late May and June.

Liaison with funder, Ovingdean Hall Foundation to evaluate the year prior and plan for the next application cycle.

  1. Develop guidelines and contract for the scholarship in conjunction with Steering Group
  2. Ensure scheme is publicised widely
  3. Respond to enquiries in consultation with funders, Ewing Mentors, NEO and Treasurer
  4. Liaise with Course Providers
  5. Receive and collate applications. Follow up with applicants as necessary
  6. To co-ordinate scrutiny group membership
  7. To facilitate informal interview process
  8. Arrange and manage scrutiny of applications by scrutiny group
  9. Inform Ovingdean Hall Foundation, Steering Group, Course Providers and applicants (successful and unsuccessful) of outcome of scrutiny process
  10. Liaise with Treasurer over fee payments
  11. Provide annual confirmation of scholars to the Treasurer
  12. Ensure successful applicants join BATOD
  13. Liaise with mentors
  14. Receive termly report from successful scholars and summary report at end of training period
  15. Chair meetings related to the CPS as needed
Key Outcomes

 

 

 

 

 

·       Suitable scholars entering the QToD profession

·       Ensure each scholar has a mentor

·       Quality assurance through scrutineering process

·       Publication of the application forms to successful candidates being informed of the outcome.

·       Scholars who have completed the MQ are aware of continuing mentoring and support options

·       Annual report on the operation of the scheme is available for the Ovingdean Hall Foundation Trustees and for BATOD

·       The professional knowledge and experience of the post holder is extended
