Invitation to the British Deaf Association’s inaugural BSL Conference in response to the passage into law of the British Sign Language (BSL) Act 2022
The British Deaf Association (BDA) are delighted to invite you to our BSL Conference 2023 – this will be an opportunity for organisations and individuals who have campaigned for a BSL Act over many years to celebrate our success and to consider what the future holds.
After decades of campaigning, the British Sign Language Act finally passed into law on 28 April 2022. Now that we have a BSL Act, we want to continue this good work together. The conference will serve to work together to discuss how the Government and public authorities consult with the Deaf community to ensure they are fulfilling their legal obligations. This event will bring together deaf organisations, public sector organisations, interpreters, advocates, schools, researchers and BSL learners alike.
