Taking place on Thursday, 23rd January, our free-of-charge seminar will be held at the University of Salford, Media City. You will be joined by expert speakers from the DfE, Apex Acoustics and IBI Group.

11:40 – 11:50 Matthieu Cassinadri, Saint-Gobain Ecophon, Area ManagerWorking alongside designers, acousticians, specifiers and contractors to deliver projects that meet acoustic standards & requirements. Matt provides assistance from design phase to delivery stage, engaging with all stakeholders.

11:55 – 12:15 Jack Harvie-Clark, Apex Acoustics

Founder of Apex Acoustics Ltd, a pioneering and multi-award winning acoustics consultancy that is heavily involved in many strands of practical research and dissemination to improve the built acoustic environment. He is an international WELL Sound Concept Advisor, sits on an ISO Committee developing a new standard for open plan offices, with other research themes around adaptive acoustic comfort in residential developments and acoustics in schools.

12:15 – 12:35 Richard Mazuch, Design Research & Innovation, IBI GroupRichard is founder of TH!NK, IBI’s in-house research and development group as well as an original founder member of the BCSE (British Council School Environments). In the last 18 years he has extensively and enthusiastically researched and developed unique design tools enabling designers to deliver optimal learning, healing and working environments underpinned by evidence-based research. Richard has worked with universities and academics on award winning research projects and has delivered a TED Talk on the Listening Architect.  As a co-author of multiple NHS Paediatric Guidelines he brings invaluable insights into Educational Design and methods especially into SEN settings.

Mark is renowned for his open and collaborative approach, a key to achieving his proven track record of positively supporting SEND provision across education settings, building programmes and the development of government policies. Mark is also part of the multidisciplinary DfE Design Team, and, is on the RIBA register of Client Advisers.
