News from NDCS colleagues:

Very exciting news from us this week- we are running an event for young people (aged 13 to 25) called Education: Coronavirus & You.

We know that coronavirus is presenting lots of different challenges to deaf young people with teachers and friends in school wearing masks, changes in school or maybe being asked to learn at home and worries around getting the same support that they are used to.

There have been lots of changes in education because of coronavirus. We know it’s a really challenging time for everyone. But one thing that hasn’t changed is that schools and colleges should be doing everything they can to make sure deaf young people are still getting the help and support they need.

So what are we going to do to help support deaf young people? These events will be a webinar question and answer session with me, Emma Fraser, Ian (England), a Wales expert and Alisdair (Scot& N.I). The session will be engaging and fun, with deaf young people come away confident in their rights. We want deaf young people to not feel alone in the current situation and empower them in these tricky and somewhat frustrating times.
