2nd Trends in Pediatrics

Across four consecutive days, the 2nd Trends in Pediatrics virtual course will cover the latest advancements, evidence and perspective on a range of topics including new-born hearing screening, auditory neuropathy, spectrum disorder, behavioural testing and pediatric vestibular assessments.

This is a course organised and run by the Interacoustics Academy. Registration to this is free of charge. Each course has been assigned 0.2 CEU´s from the American Academy of Audiology. You can attend as many courses as you like but each course requires a separate registration so CEU points can be properly awarded.

Global perspectives on new-born hearing screening

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand the different approaches to new-born hearing screening adopted across the globe
  • To explore the effects of the screening strategy and time points on the outcome of new-born hearing screening
  • To explore development in the OAE measurement method

The role of diagnostic tests of hearing and balance in the paediatric CI patient journey

  • To review the global perspective of hearing and balance assessment in CI pathwayfor pediatric recipients
  • The role of diagnostic tools in the testing of the vestibular end organ (cVEMP and vHIT, rotiational chairs)
  • To understand the consequences of not performing pre and post vestibular assessment in the paediatric CI patient
