“An opportunity for those considering a cochlear implant, or newly implanted, to gain firsthand user insight.
|Hosted by Elizabeth, a cochlear implant user &
|Elizabeth initially studied violin and piano at the Guildhall School of Music, London, and went on to become a freelance violinist and violin teacher. When her hearing deteriorated and hearing aids ceased to be of any benefit, she gave up playing the violin and piano.
When she received her cochlear implant in 2007, it transformed her life, and after rehabilitation and dedication she was able to again make music. She now plays piano at hospitals, hospices, cafes, and events and played Chopin Nocturne at The Beats of Cochlear International Music Festival in Poland.
On this webinar, she will share her hearing journey, her determination to re-join the hearing world, the rehabilitation and hours of dedication and practice to be able to make beautiful music again.
Speaking to Elizabeth, she recalls the moment her cochlear implant was switched on and the joy it brings to her life…
|“I was over the moon to hear sounds again when my implant was switched on. It has given me great happiness and has enabled me to come out of a silent world and to communicate again, especially through playing the piano.
Being able to play once more is my greatest joy and consolation! ”
Both candidates and cochlear implant users are invited to join this webinar on Saturday 3rd February 2024 11:00am – 11:45am, which will also include a Q&A session, where attendees will be able to ask any questions to Elizabeth or a clinical specialist.
