Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD) | Sutton, London | Full Time, Permanent

Cognus is hiring a QToD to join our highly regarded Hearing and Vision Education Service (HaVES) — a specialist, collaborative team dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with sensory needs.

The role:
Support children and young people aged 0–25 who are Deaf, including those with complex and additional needs, across educational settings in the London Borough of Sutton. You’ll provide specialist teaching, assessment and advice — helping children build communication, independence and self-advocacy skills, while supporting families and professionals to understand and value deafness as part of identity and lived experience.

What we’re looking for:
✅ QToD qualification
✅ Qualified Teacher Status
✅ 3+ years’ successful experience teaching deaf or partially deaf children/young people
✅ Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and Children & Families Act
✅ Confidence assessing needs across home, early years and school settings
✅ BSL skills desirable
