The National Deaf Children’s Society and BATOD have submitted a joint paper to the Government asking the Department of Education to consider the establishment of a bursary to support the training of Teachers of the Deaf in view of the recent decline in numbers and the demographic profile of the profession.
After several discussions with an analyst and civil servant at the DfE the draft has been refined to be further considered in the Department.
