Professor Graeme Clark AC has been awarded the 2026 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering – described by some as the Nobel Prize of engineering. Professor Clark’s pioneering vision led to the development of the multichannel cochlear implant, often called the bionic ear, which laid the scientific and engineering foundations for today’s hearing technology. He is one of nine engineers to receive the award for demonstrating the extraordinary power of engineering to overcome physical limitations.”
