Join us for a free day course on strategies to support the development of listening and spoken language in deaf babies and preschool children. It will focus on the following topics:

– Checking functional listening and understanding
– Speech acoustics
– Parent Coaching
– Top tips to use Auditory Verbal strategies
There will be plenty of time to ask questions and for discussion, as well as see video example of therapy sessions in action. Participants can bring along case examples or video clips of deaf children whose families want to develop listening and spoken language but for whom the journey may be challenging.
This course is tailored for Speech and Language Therapists, Audiologists and Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (TODs) who work with preschool deaf children/

Presenter bio: Noel Kenely
Noel is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. He is one of the clinical leads at charity Auditory Verbal UK where he delivers therapy to families of deaf babies and preschool deaf children, as well as providing training to other professionals in AV therapy.
Noel has worked in the field of deafness for over 20 years, initially working as a Sign Language Interpreter in Malta. He went on to train to become a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist in 2012 and certified as an Auditory Verbal Therapist in 2016.
