Time Commitment

 

Varies subject to the needs of the mentee during the set six month period

If the postholder has been unable to contribute to the work of BATOD or to attend a meeting related to the role for a continuing period of up to 6 months, beginning with the date of the appointment to/renewal of role, PSMS Coordinator and SG will consider ongoing appointment, to ensure the efficient continuation of BATOD’s work, following consultation with the post holder.

Main purposes of role

 

The mentor role is critical to ensuring the of the mentoring partnership.

To support the mentoring scheme with the successful guiding, advising and helping to facilitate the development of the mentee.

Key tasks

 

·       Complete the PSMS training days

·       Attend at least one group supervision session held by PSMS SG per year

·       Provide ongoing support as a mentor

·       Ensure contact details and current role are kept up to date with PSMS Coordinator

·       Respond to emails from PSMS regarding pairings, 3 month review contact and end of mentorship contract

·       Keep up to date with paperwork related to PSMS

·       Ensure relevant forms are completed to ensure safe working practices on behalf of BATOD

·       Uphold the principles of BATOD and PSMS as outlined in the Code of Conduct

Key Outcomes ·       Mentee is supported by a mentor with recent experience in the role

·       The professional knowledge and experience of the post holder is extended

Steering Group

Recommended knowledge and experience ·       BATOD full member

·       QToD

·       Experienced in role for at least 5 years

·       Good written and spoken communication skills

·       Excellent time management

·       Administration and organisation skills.

·       Good computer literacy; accuracy and attention to detail.
