Do you have to have a qualified language modifier to support a student working with a language modified exam papers?
Question to BATOD – “Do you have to have a qualified language modifier to support a student working with a language modified exam papers?”
BATOD working group response
JCQ AAA “A Language Modifier must have: successfully completed accredited training; (A JCQ Centre Inspector will ask to see evidence of successfully completed accredited training.)”
It is better to apply for language modifier at the start of the course as not all awarding bodies can supply modified papers for specific subjects. A modified paper does not replace the language modifier access arrangement. The language modifier can still be asked for queries on specific questions.
