Main purposes of role
|
• Link role between the region/nation committee and the National Executive Council (NEC)
• Localised issues, good practice examples and feedback are brought to the attention of NEC to inform Association business, eg consultation responses, development plan activity, association discussions with partners, governments, unions
|
Key tasks
|
• Attend R/N committee meetings and NEC
Contribute to discussions to inform the work of the Association
• Add comments to documentation as requested
•Submit an NEC Rep report to each NEC meeting
• Represent the local committee voice and distinguish clearly when opinions are from own professional context; help with organisation of Study days/conferences/etc; report back to committee examples of good practice/issues in local area; input thoughts and opinions into advice/guidelines/policies, etc.

|
1. The localised context is known by the NEC
2. The Association business is relayed to the local committee 3. The work of the Association reflects the membership across the four UK nations 4. The professional knowledge and experience of the post holder is extended |
